Recipe: Peach Pear Chutney

Peach Pear Chutney

Ingredients
  • Market:
    • 4-6 small ripe peaches from Pearson Farm ($8.00)
    • 3 carrots, thinly chopped from Global Growers Network ($4.00)
    • 1 large jar Chai Spiced Pear Preserves from Dragonfly Design Studios ($8.00)
    • Baguette from Just Bakery of Atlanta ($5.00)
  • Pantry:
    • 1 green onion, roughly chopped
    • 1/3 tsp red pepper flakes
    • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
    • a pinch black pepper

 Directions
  1. In a large pot, add green onions and carrots and stir. Keep the veggies moving so they don’t burn (because there isn’t added oil or butter). Saute until the green oils are lightly charred (1 to 2 minutes).
  2. Slice peaches into small chunks and add to the pot and stir. Cook until the peach vegetable mixture begins to bubble then add garlic salt and black pepper.
  3. Add in chai spiced pear preserves. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add red pepper flakes, taste and adjust seasoning to preference.

Serve on top of a slice of French baguette, chicken, pork or salmon!
