Outreach Spotlight: Chili Night at the Stewart Center

The Stewart Center’s Health Cooperative participants made up their own chili recipes – including market veggies for added vitamins and nutrients.

Even the kids jumped in to help chop up all of the veggies. We diced garlic, onions, carrots, celery, green bell peppers, and zucchini for our chilis. Processed with VSCO with q1 presetProcessed with VSCO with q1 preset

Participants split into three teams to make different chili combinations for a Chili Cook-off! One team used ground beef, another ground chicken, and another ground turkey. They each added their own combination of vegetables and seasonings before adding tomatoes and beans. Processed with VSCO with q1 preset Processed with VSCO with q1 preset Processed with VSCO with q1 preset The participants will be serving chili at their holiday party next week – we’re all looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
