Meet the Chef! Farm Fondo’s head chef will be Mia

Meet the Chef! Farm Fondo’s head chef will be Mia Orino, chef and co-owner of the renowned Filipino restaurant @kamayan_atl , and the 2026 Lady Locavores Chef Award winner! Mia is a self-taught cook passionate about sharing the traditional and regional Filipino cuisine her mother passed down to her. Expect a communal eating experience with dynamic and balanced flavors that will delight your palate!

Mia is not only a talented, decorated chef, but also deeply invested in her local community. By working with local farmers, including those from Global Growers, Kamayan reduces food waste and supports local growers by preparing 120-300 hot meals weekly for distribution to various nonprofits.

Meet the beverage maker! Farm Fondo’s drink specialist, Petals Bradley, is guided by her conviction that food is medicine. Petals is a double-certified Holistic Practitioner, permaculturalist, farmer, and the 2026 winner of the Lady Locavores Beverage Award.

As the heart and hands behind @woodland.wellness, Petals crafts every beverage offering with deep intention, traditional wisdom, and a reverence for the land. For Petals, locally sourced isn’t a trend; it’s a devotion. You can expect her tonics and elixirs to be not only tasty and refreshing, but also good for your body, mind, and soul.

For Farm Fondo, Petals will be crafting drinks from her new line of tonics inspired by Mia’s menu and in partnership with @drinkcathead 🤩

Starting with plant sales this and next week! 🥦
*NOW* is the time to plant your fall garden. Whether you are adding to your ornamental and pollinator beds or want to harvest leafy greens and brassicas from your kitchen garden, the next two weeks are the ideal window to get seedlings in the ground. The farmers at @loveislovefarm @basilfamilyfarm @hearthfire__farmandnursery @atlnativeplantnursery @bedheadplants have grown great varieties and they are ready for you! 🌱

🍛 Pepper-Eggplant-Mushroom Curry 🍆 Try this recipe

🍛 Pepper-Eggplant-Mushroom Curry 🍆
Try this recipe curated by Educational Chef Tatiana (@taurus.season.food ) featuring the very best of late summer produce! This pepper, mushroom and eggplant curry will surely nourish your mind, body and spirit.
Ps: the last photo features a market customer buying all of the ingredients to make the recipe!! 🫂💛

Ingredients ✨
* 5 fairy tale eggplants or 2 asian eggplants, cut into circles (@ragandfrassfarm )
* 2-3 bell peppers, sliced (@diamondhillfarm )
* 3-4 fresh tomatoes (@cosmos.farm )
* 6 oz blue oyster mushroom (@belledawgfarms )
* 1 bundle garlic chives (@ragandfrassfarm )
* 1 bundle Thai basil (@snapfingerfarm )
* 1 onion, sliced
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 tbsp ginger, grated
* 1 can coconut milk
* Spices: Rasa Mela (@pranakitchens ) Cumin seeds, Coriander powder, chili powder, Fenugreek, Hibiscus Flowers, Curry Leaves
* Oil, salt

Instructions ✨
1. Sauté mushrooms and eggplant separately: Heat oil in a heavy pot. Add mushrooms. Cook mushrooms until the liquid had dissolved and they are evenly browned. Then, add more oil and sauté the eggplant until they are caramelized. Set aside.
2. Add onions until golden. Then add in sliced bell peppers. Stir in ginger-garlic paste for 30 seconds.
3. Toast spices: Add Rasa Mela spice blend. Stir 15 seconds so they bloom.
4. Add tomatoes. Cook down 3-4 minutes until thickened and oil separates slightly. Coat them well in the masala.
5. Reintroduce the eggplant and mushroom back into the pan.
6. Pour in coconut milk. Simmer 5 minutes more. Season with spices and salt. Add chives. Garnish with Thai basil. Serve over rice, naan, or lentils. Enjoy!
