Today at the Decatur Housing Authority we celebrated strawberry season! We tasted strawberries and read two books – one about the nutritional benefits of the fruit food group (“Apples, Cherries, Red Raspberries“) and another one that tells a story about how the Cherokee believe that the first strawberry came to be (“The First Strawberry: A Cherokee Story“).

The kids also visited their garden to harvest radishes and kale to take home to their families.
