The MARTA Markets return for the 2024 season on June 11th with a few modifications to the schedule and fresh produce from Georgia farms.
In anticipation of the 2026 World Cup, renovations have begun at Five Points station, therefore we won’t be at that location until the games begin. ⚽️ Instead, the West End market will be open twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Markets will run from 3 to 6 pm until December 6 in the following schedule:
🍑 West End: Tuesdays and Fridays
🍑 H.E. Holmes: Wednesdays
🍑 Bankhead: Wednesdays
🍑 College Park: Thursdays
🍑 Kensington: Thursdays
🍑 Doraville: Fridays
During the 2024 season, you can expect 50% OFF on EBT purchases as well as chef demos and recipe samples. Keep an eye out for a new initiative that turns farm fresh produce into prepared meals and snacks. Mushroom jerky for the ride to school? Or perhaps a packed soup to eat once you get home. 😌 This initiative is made possible by Georgia Drawdown, which invests in Georgia-specific climate solutions that prioritize equity and public health, create jobs, and nurture the natural environment. Our project aims to rescue excess produce from local farms and convert them into convenient veggie-forward meals and snacks.
The MARTA Markets has a simple goal: get fresh, local food into places where people already are. By doing so, we are bolstering the local economy, creating more opportunities for small businesses, and helping make our communities healthier. This unique food access solution is a partnership between MARTA and CFM, along with community partners like the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Open Hand, and Wholesome Wave Georgia. Learn more here.
