Celebrate International Womxns Day and beyond, with a 4-part virtual series led by several of Atlanta’s Lady Locavores!
Community Farmers Markets invites you to Lady Locavores at Home, including a tea ceremony, cocktail making class, cooking class, and flower arranging demo.
- March 8 (International Womxns Day) – Tea Ceremony with Andrea Blanton of Food Earth Birth, including a sound bath experience with Charlie Watts of the Aura Weaver
- March 15 – Cocktails with Keyatta Mincey Parker of A Sip of Paradise
- March 24 – Cooking with Chef Maricela Vega of Chicomecóatl and 8 Arm
- March 29 – Flower arranging with Sage Williams, professional florist and Grant Park Farmers Market Manager
Each session will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m. EST. You may register for 1, 2, 3 or all of these events! You’ll receive a Zoom link the Friday before the session and 15 minutes before the session.
COST: The sessions are “pay what you can” – we appreciate a donation of any amount. Our goal would normally be to raise $25,000 at Lady Locavores to support our educational chef program. One hundred percent of the donations we receive from Lady Locavores at Home will go towards our educational chefs. Thank you!
REGISTER FOR LADY LOCAVORES AT HOME
What do I need?
Depending on which session(s) you attend, you’ll need different ingredients and items.
Tea Ceremony – #LadyLocavoreatHome Tea available for purchase for $4 at the CFM General Store at the Grant Park Farmers Market on March 7th (Eventide Brewing from 9am-1pm). Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite mug, loose leaf tea, and teapot, or simply a ready-to-sip cup of tea.
Cocktail Class – Cocktail kits (limited to first 25 registrants) available for purchase for $15 at the Grant Park Farmers Market on March 14 (Eventide Brewing from 9am-1pm).
Cooking Class – Chef Maricela will provide an ingredient list with suggestions of which market produce to buy and which pantry staples you can use.
Flower Arranging– Sage will provide a list of flower types, sizes and colors with vendor suggestions at market. Other materials she suggests include “scissors or clippers, an apron, a water source, and a vessel”.
